This business success tip has been discussed before. Using freebies has helped many people grow their lists and make sales. It’s not easy for some newbies to understand, however. They can’t quite grasp why you would give something away when you can make money with it.

The answer is simple.

Freebies are a way to build a relationship with your prospects. Once you have gained their trust with quality products, you can more easily entice them to buy from you. This is also referred to as viral marketing.

So you need a freebie.

There are many places to get freebies. You can acquire them from other marketers who want to get the word out through other marketers in their niche. They provide you with a free report containing their links, and you add your own links before distributing it.

You can get them from book giveaway events. There are several places online that allow you to download books and use them to promote your business.

Of course, you can create your own or have someone create it for you.

Ebooks are not the only option. You can give away videos, software and other tools as well.

Once you have them, you need to distribute them so they get into the right hands.

One effective way is to put an opt-in form on your site. People sign up and download your product.

You can place ads on any of the advertising sites such as US Free Ads, directing people to your page. Even better is to just give it away without having them opt-in. They are much more likely to accept your offer if they do not have to give you anything in return, even their contact information.

Pass them around at every opportunity. Join related niche forums and give it away in your signature file. Use social media to get the word out. Twitter is a good choice.

Write an article and submit it to niche newsletters. Including your resource box with a link to where readers can download your giveaway.
